Customers complained that Ty was too big to fit neatly into a pocket. So, we distilled his knowledge into book and CD formats.

"I came away with a life-altering experience. I now possess the tools to speak to thousands - but more important - to listen to one."

Time's a-wasting. Schedule a date with self-improvement, and write it down in ink.

Using the latest technology, we've extracted almost everything Ty knows and put it into The Million Dollar ToolBox.

We've tried to talk some sense into Ty, but he still insists on giving his knowledge away for free!

Bringing It Back Home

Let me tell you about some folks who know how to bring it back home: Ron and Katherine Harper. They started a company in their Charlotte, NC home in 1971, and today Harper Corporation is a global leader in flexographic printing.

This type of high resolution technology allows you to print on virtually anything.

Despite global success, Ron and Katherine have never forgotten their hometown or their industry and they continue to contribute. Ron's second book, 21 Steps To Success and Happiness, just came out.

All of the proceeds from this book will go to the Phoenix Challenge High School Flexo Skills Competition. Proceeds from Ron's first book, The Harder I Work, The Luckier I Get!, have gone to the Foundation of Flexographic Technical Association.

Hello. It's spring and life is good. For our 25th anniversary, all of our public speaking fees are going to charity. And I'm speaking a lot: at Piedmont Natural Gas, at the Harper Phoenix Challenge, a competition for kids in the printing industry, and for the top 70 producers at Allen Tate Realtors. We have a number of other engagements coming up, including one for law firm Hedrick Eatman. It appears that the $25,000 goal we set for this project will be eclipsed.

As part of our 2005 effort to give back to our community, Anne has been involved in a number of projects. She recently coached the six award finalists for National Association of Women Business Owners. I think her favorite - and most personally rewarding - project is coaching students at one of our local middle schools.

Tell us what you're doing to give back and we'll share your accomplishments. I look forward to hearing from you. Now, let's get going.

Time To Bloom

As I watch the always gorgeous Charlotte spring outside our window, it occurs to me that the flowers are sending all of us a message: shake off the winter funk and be renewed. I believe you should be renewing your skills, your relationships, and your knowledge throughout the year. But when spring arrives you have no more excuses.

Truly successful people understand this. Those who invest in gaining new knowledge and improving in-born skills are renewed, reinvigorated and rewarded. I get letters just about every day that reinforce this message.

For instance Robert Dyksterhouse tells us, "thanks again for the great training. I was riding with my manager recently and at the end of the day, he said my confidence and speaking abilities had increased tremendously. He said ESI had obviously paid off. This was payoff for me and I have received feedback from my customers letting me know they like my style!"

Here are a few more comments from recent ESI grads.

"I came away with a life-altering experience. I now possess the tools to speak to thousands - but more important - to listen to one."

"Amazing. I can't believe the confidence I built up over the past three days."

"Not only did ESI make me a better speaker. It made me a better person."

Finally, ESI graduate Brent Dees sent us this note: "As a Focus Four coach, my job is to help each business owner find his or her own unique purpose in life so that they can use their business as a tool to fulfill their purpose and be successful. ESI is much the same in that we each have a unique voice we must find. Ty and his faculty don't try to make you something you are not. They helped me find, develop and sharpen what makes me the best Brent I can be."

Do you see why I love this business? How can you not get charged up when you know what you are teaching is having such an impact on your clients?

Of course, I'd love for you to sign up right now for one of our courses because I am convinced this is one of the best ways to renew and reinvigorate. If for some reason, you can't get to one of our classes right now, please take a hint from the flowers. Do something, anything that will help you bloom.

  Bright And Broke?
By Mike Summey

Unfortunately, bright and broke is the position in which an increasing number of Americans find themselves. Why? Why are so many people with good educations, good jobs and all the appearance of success just a paycheck or two from financial disaster? Regretfully, the answer to this question reveals the darker side of what's taking place in this, the greatest country in which to build wealth the world has ever known.

I wish I could begin by saying that I've been blessed beyond my wildest dreams, but that wouldn't be quite true. You see, for me they were more than just dreams; I turned them into goals that shaped my life and brought me much success. Sadly, that's an art that isn't taught in schools.

In my bestselling book The Weekend Millionaire's Secrets to Investing in Real Estate (McGraw-Hill 2003), written with Roger Dawson, I shared much of the knowledge I've learned from more than 30 years of investing in real estate. The simple basic fundamentals outlined in the book caused thousands of readers to view real estate investing in a totally different light
